Judging from the numbers you see on the road, gas motor scooters are becoming one of the most favorite modes of transportation these day. And although you may be doubtful about purchasing a scooter yourself, still, you begin to wonder what makes it so popular.

The Advantages - There are many advantages in buying a scooter. Obviously, you can’t deny the fact that gas prices are currently raising everyday, and fueling your car seems to be draining out your financial resources. This may pose as a problem for those who are trying to save up enough money for the future. So how do we put the plug on that huge hole in your wallet?

Environmental - Since scooter companies are now making an effort to reduce emissions from their scooter, there are now LPG powered scooters in the market that run on liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) instead of petrol or diesel.

Practicality - If you do the math, you’ll notice that the price you paid for your scooter will be reimbursed earlier in the future compared to buying a car. Parking won’t be a problem too with your scooter. Because of its size, scooters are also allowed to park in bike racks which has a cheaper fare compared to parking your car. You also can get to different places easily and not having to worry about traffic or being late for school or work.

You don’t have to worry about comfort. The new range of scooters now offer comfort features such as a comfortable seat, alarm, start button, radio, windshield, heated hand grip, a clock and an outside temperature gauge.

A Look at the Disadvantages - Nevertheless, there are still some dangers that you face when riding a motor scooter. Since the motor scooter is quiet and smaller compared to motorcycles, other vehicles might not be aware of you while you’re driving in the street.

Safety - The motor scooter doesn’t give you the protection that a car gives you too. Bee stings, bugs, dust, splashes, droppings, and rain may be hard to avoid when riding a scooter. The most that you can do is to wear a safety helmet. By wearing a helmet, you are not only avoiding the things mentioned before, but also are keeping your head safe if in case a motor vehicular accident might happen.

Also, people who will be driving scooters might find their outfits for driving limited. Yes, scooters were designed early in the 1950s for women so that they will be able to wear skirts while driving. However, a recent study shows that skirts or dresses divert women driver’s attention because of the fact that winds are strong when riding, and skirts occasionally billow. Other experienced scooters advise on an ordinary shirt and jeans when driving a scooter. High heels are not encouraged since they expose your ankles to danger.

So far these are only a few of the advantages and disadvantages of a gas motor scooter. Before you go and replace your car with a scooter, you might want to weigh the pros and cons a little bit more. Assess whether or not a scooter fits your lifestyle the best.

Regardless of whether you live in the country or the city, your car is the only thing that can help you get around. However, we all know that even luxury cars are nothing without a good set of tires. If you want to personally shop for your tires, here are some important pieces of information that you should never neglect.

Size Matters

Different tires don’t just have different brands. They also come in different sizes. Your car tires should always fit the type of vehicle you are driving. Examples of various types of tires for vehicles are passenger and light truck type tires. If you get a smaller size than is appropriate, you could endanger yourself or end up paying more for tire maintenance.

You would know your tire size by looking for it in your car manual or on the sidewall of your tires. The sidewall print also contains other pieces of important tire information. If you are not sure how to interpret the sidewall letters and numbers, you may want to consult a tire and car website for proper interpretation. Some sites will simply let you enter information on your car’s model and make so you can get your tire size information.

Rims Should Match

Another thing you have to consider is the tire rims. The rims give your tires the right support. Getting the wrong rim for your car tire may result in too much tension on your tires. This could damage your tires sooner than they should be. If you want to customize your wheels, make sure you consult experts who know which tires fit with which rims.

Many Different Tires

You can choose from different options. You can have tires for the winter and summer. Tires are also categorized according to type of vehicle. Passenger tires have different dimensions from those used in vans and SUVs.

One other category of tires is according to use. Each driver may have very specific driving styles. Some may also drive more often in rough terrain than others or may need their vehicles for frequent transport of heavy load. There are specific tires depending on your intended use and the way you use your tires.

Tires Don’t Last Forever

Like anything else, tires have a lifespan. Part of keeping yourself safe on the road is to know exactly when your tires should be changed. You can follow manual suggestions for when tires should be changed. You should however also manually check your tires. Look for leaks, tears, wear and bumps on the rubber of your tires.

You Shouldn’t Guess

When it comes to tires, never make guesses. You could put your life in danger. If you need any help with tire information or tire changes, you should ask a qualified tire dealer.

Get the right tire. Save on money and effort by asking experts to help you get your tires.

Although wheel chairs have relatively helped many individuals in moving around, there are still some tasks that require more than the wheel chair to perform. For this reason, the wheel chair lift vans were developed and released in the market in the past decades. Indeed, wheel chairs have served a very important purpose in providing users the ability to travel from one place to another. But like many of us, you are most probably looking more into maximum comfort and convenience besides plain mobility. You’d not only want to go to places, but you’d also want to go to places faster and with less hassle.

Van features:

Designed specifically for tasks that require scooters and wheel chairs, the wheel chair lift vans have become a necessity for most individuals with impaired mobility. Their major function is to make access to the vehicle itself much easier by providing a built-in device that lifts up the wheel chair. The other major function of the wheel chair lift is to provide a secure and spacious seating allocation for the wheel chair user.

This equipment can either already come with a special automated device that can lift a wheel chair from the ground and into the vehicle, or a wheel chair ramp. When used, suspensions often stiffen so that the weight of the wheel chair will be handled appropriately.

They also generally come with two doors. They may have a back door or a side door. With a back door, a lift or ramp is provided for you to be elevated into the van. A back door will allow you to go directly through the middle and into the front of the seats in the vehicle. In this case, the back area of your van is elongated to allow the ramp to be longer and less steep. Parking might become somewhat of a hindrance because of the elongated feature, but most places provide handicap parking spaces.

Wheel chair lift vans with side doors allow the wheel chair user to enter the vehicle from the side and travel a shorter distance to the front seat. These vans will not have a problem with parallel parking, but you may need a lot more space on the sides before accessing your vehicle at the parking lot.

Wheel chair lift vans often have a lowered bearing to allow wheel chair users to access the vehicle with ease and without the risk of slipping backwards or falling sideways.

Cost:

The cost of wheel chair lift vans vary depending on which type you go with and if you are going to have one customized. You have plenty of options when it comes to prices. Apply for grants, secure a loan, or ask financial help from the government. You can even find ways to raise money with family and friends to finance your wheel chair lift van purchase.

About the Author:

It cannot be denied that, even for those who are able to get around with ease, a form of transportation or vehicle is needed to get somewhere. Today, vehicles and transportation have become a necessity.

If your average guy can find it difficult to get anywhere without transportation, imagine what it’s like for someone with disability. Fortunately, there have been many technological advances for mobility devices. There is now a wheel chair lift for vehicle for those who want more convenience.

For many individuals, having a wheel chair alone is not sufficient to travel with ease. You may be able to move in a wheel chair from your home to the nearest convenience store just across the road, however, what if you are having a family trip and expecting to be on the road for 3 or more hours? Surely you’ll be stopping by somewhere to eat or have a few moments to rest, and it’s not going to be a breeze getting on and off the car without some extra help. This is where a wheel chair lift for vehicle comes in handy.

Reason 1:

The first reason for you to invest in a wheel chair lift for vehicle is independence. It can sometimes require more than one person to get someone on a wheelchair into a vehicle. Imagine all the trouble you get for just wanting to drive to the grocery store. With a wheel chair lift for vehicle, you no longer have to call on someone just to get into your car. Invest in a hydraulic wheel chair lift if you’d like total independence.

Reason 2:

Although it may be expensive (depending on what type or model you are getting), you save more by getting a wheel chair vehicle lift than if you pay 2 or 3 helpers at a time is not cheap. Not to mention, your helpers aren’t always going to be around perhaps because of illness, holiday leave, absence, etc.

If you invest in a wheel chair lift for vehicle you buy once and the benefits stay with you forever. Also, the lift can be easily sold when no longer in use.

Reason 3:

The third reason is that you can go farther with a wheel chair lift vehicle. There are so many reasons for you to get a wheel chair lift for vehicle. As mentioned earlier, you may need one for long trips. But think about public transport. There are trains, trams and cabs. If you don’t happen to have a car, a wheel chair lift for vehicle will eliminate your anxiety whenever in public places. It can also save you during emergencies when you need to catch a train or get into a cab to go somewhere quick.

There are several types of wheel chair lift for your vehicle and they’re all available for you to choose from. Most are light, compact, and weather resistant for maximum comfort and mobility.

About the Author:

Being an avid Lionel Enthusiast for many years, needless to say, has added up to a vast collection of these trains. Some of my replicas go back a good many years. I would have to say my only frustration with this hobby, has been the lack of good material regarding the trains themselves, that is available. I am not referring to the History of the specific trains, but to the maintenance and repair of the various pieces. For years I have always had to find a good Lionel technician to do my technical work for me.

Unfortunately there are fewer and fewer reliable repairmen around, and they are getting harder to find, not to mention the cost involved. After having a very valuable piece of my Lionel collection in need of repair, out of desperation I began to search the internet for any help possible. That’s when I found the “Lionel Trains Service & Operational Manual CD”. I had not come across this before and with reservations I began to review it a little closer.

What I Like About It
Over the years I had stumbled upon various instructions and guides concerning the repairs but they were always incomplete. They would offer the very basics but there just never seemed to be enough to complete the job I needed to do. The very first thing on this advertisement that impressed me was, that first it was the same one the technicians were using. Those guys I was telling you about that are hard to find.

Secondly, it covered the periods right from 1902-1986. This covered my complete collection. The real bonus was, it was all on two CDs. Not a separate package for each year which would have ended up being very costly. An additional bonus was it came with Parts and Accessories manuals as well.

Thirdly, I love for the fact that it also provides vintage classic catalogs. I’m a collector and I would love to print them out for my collection.

There really wasn’t anything that was left out that I would need. I was really impressed with the completeness of what The Lionel Manuals were offering.

What I Didn’t Like About It.
The overall information in the advertisement was not over done. It explained exactly what was being offered. I was a bit concerned about the few spelling errors that were found in the content of the advertisement. Would this also be reflected in the manuals, hurting their accuracy? Then I realized that it was most unlikely that the authors of the manual wrote their own advertisements. So I didn’t give it much more thought.

Conclusion:
After reading all that the Lionel Manuals had to offer I was convinced that I wanted to purchase them. It is a great investment and a small price to pay to learn how to repair and restore my own model trains

It is a sunny day. You are having a pleasant drive, perhaps singing along to your favorite song, when you hear the sirens. Looking at the speedometer, you realize you were speeding. This is your first ticket. For those of us who have experienced these unfortunate events, the first question you may ask after the initial disbelief is: How much is my car insurance going to go up? The answer to that question depends on many factors.

One factor that insurance companies will look at when deciding on a rate change is the policy holderas previous driving record. If you have had a policy with them for a long period of time and this is your first ticket, your insurance will usually not go up too drastically. However, new policy holders who receive a ticket soon after taking out automobile insurance could have a significant rate increase.

It pays to be old and experienced too. Young drivers are universally viewed as worse risks, and a speeding ticket only reinforces the insurance companies’ prejudice against the inexperienced. If you’re young and new to driving it’s more important than ever that you abide by the rules of the road - it will pay off in large savings in time to come.

Automobile insurance carriers will also take into consideration the type of violation. Speeding tickets are very common, so they will examine how fast the driver was actually going and how much the driver was going over the speed limit. If the ticket was written for another violation, the insurance company will make a decision based on the seriousness and potential for risk the violation carries.

For instance, did your bad driving result in a car wreck? If so, expect your insurance to go up dramatically regardless of how good a record you had in the past. You insurer has just had to dip into his own pocket to pay for your carelessness, and he’ll now want to make back the money he just lost.

Minor infractions can sometimes be cleared from your driving record by the courts. It’s possible that a court will be willing to dismiss the infraction, with the driver only having to pay court costs rather than a fine and having his transgression appear on a record. But check out your local state law for details.

Many Americans don’t have any car insurance - make sure you’re not one of them! It is important that you are properly protected by an insurance policy for when disaster hits, regardless of how good a driver you think you are. Well known companies like Allstate and Progressive Direct can provide you with insurance online or by phone. Always provide accurate and truthful information, and take the time to shop around for quotes and the best deal.

Nobody enjoys getting a ticket, but it need not be a disaster in terms of continued insurance coverage of your driving. As with most things in life, it pays to be prepared. Check out your insurer’s policy towards traffic tickets BEFORE you get caught. That way you won’t have to face anything more unpleasant than the police officer’s telling-off.

Wheel chairs have made it easier for the mobile-challenged to travel to the next block and visit with friends and neighbors. Unfortunately, though, there may be times when you need to go farther than your neighborhood. You may want to visit the countryside or make a couple of stops on the road. For the physically challenged, these sound like such a huge hassle and all too exhausting. Imagine having to have people carry you into and out of the vehicle. It would always be nice to have your independence once in while. The process is a daunting one and makes you want to stay home all day. With a wheel chair lift for car you can have all the liberty and independence you want.

Here are the two general types of wheel chair lift for car and their functions:

1. Electrical Wheel Chair Lift For Car

This is a device that can propel itself and can automatically raise a wheel chair to the level of the automobile you are using. You do not need to manually drive yourself over a ramp to get into your car. The electrical wheel chair lift is charged by the electrical power in your room and may also come with batteries just in case it runs out of the energy obtained from electricity. It is generally inexpensive and can be easily auctioned off when no longer in use.

2. Hydraulic Wheel Chair Lift for Car

The hydraulic wheel chair lift for car is another option. This is a great alternative to the electrical wheel chair lift. The difference between the two is that the hydraulic wheel chair lift does not operate on electricity. Rather, it needs to be refilled with fluids from time to time so it can give you maximum function.

Wheel chair lift for car now come in different models to choose from. There are those that can recline, tilt, elevate legs and seat height adjustment that is ergonomically designed for your health and safety. There are so many “specialized” wheel chair lifts for your car these days. Always ask the salesperson for the latest innovations and what is it about a lift that makes it different from the rest. Also, you will need to discuss what kind of vehicle you have so you can find the most suitable wheel chair lift for you.

Remember though that a wheel chair lift for car will not function properly if it is not suitable for your vehicle. For example, if it’s not going to fit, then there was no point in buying the device in the first place. Wheel chair lifts, unlike simple ramps, need to be installed in your car, so an expert may be needed just to make sure you’ve bought the right one. Mention both the type of car you have and your wheel chair’s year, model and make.

Imagine the scene. You are driving along happily one day when suddenly there is an unpleasant blue and red flash in your mirror and you hear the siren of a police car. You’ve been caught speeding, and now you are about to receive your first ticket. It’s a scenario many of us are only too familiar with, and one which, after the initial shock has subsided, leads on to a further question: ‘how will this effect my car insurance?’ The answer depends on a number of interrelated factors.

Insurance companies will look at your previous driving record, before the current ticket was issued. If you’ve managed to drive without any infractions for a long time, then your insurance may not increase too greatly. However, if you have only just begun driving, and have already picked up your first ticket, then you should expect a correspondingly larger change in your insurance rate.

Age also plays a strong role, with younger drivers taking a hit in overall cost, even if they abide by all the rules of the road. A young driver with a ticket clearly indicates to the insurance company that they are a bad risk.

The companies also take into account the exact nature of the violation: the amount over the speed limit, as well as how high the total speed was clocked. All these elements have a role in dictating the driver’s level of risk.

For instance, did your bad driving result in a car wreck? If so, expect your insurance to go up dramatically regardless of how good a record you had in the past. You insurer has just had to dip into his own pocket to pay for your carelessness, and he’ll now want to make back the money he just lost.

Many people do not know that tickets can be dismissed and will not go on your driving record. If the violation is not too serious, the courts will dismiss the ticket in some cases and the driver will only be responsible for paying court costs. Not all tickets are dismissed and the process also varies from state to state.

Make sure you’re covered. Too many Americans put themselves and others at risk by driving uninsured. Insurance is easier to arrange now that ever, with Allstate and Progressive Direct, among others, offering online and over the phone insurance options. Make sure you visit a few different sites so you can make sure you get the best deal for you. Prices will vary greatly from company to company, so don’t go with the first one to give you a quote.

Nobody enjoys getting a ticket, but if you do, it may not result in an insurance increase beyond what you can afford to pay. It’s a good idea to find out how your insurer handles traffic tickets when you first take out a policy, so you know what to expect once those blue flashing lights have faded into the distance.

People have now noticed the rising trend of scooters - specifically a gas motor scooter in the streets. Those of you who are accustomed to riding behind a wheel, and listening to the radio might be wary of buying a scooter. Here’s some car salesman training for you to think about: the next time you go into a store to purchase something as a customer, think about how the salesperson is working for you and then think about how you would like to be treated by that person. You want to be treated like an individual by someone who is knowledgeable about their product and who can make the right recommendations based on your needs and not one what they want to sell you to meet their needs.

Once you considered this, think about how you as the car salesperson treat your customers and then ask yourself, ‘Am I selling them this car based on their perspective as a customer?’ If you answer no to that question, then you may want to reevaluate your current sales strategy. Putting your feet in your customer’s shoes - and we don’t mean literally - will go a long way to understanding how to approach and work with your customers to get them into the vehicle they want and close the sale.

It only takes four steps to do

Most sales transactions happen in four common steps. Once you recognize and familiarize yourself with these steps, then selling to the customer as if you were the customer becomes easier. Let’s look at them.

Step 1: The relationship between the salesperson and the customer must be established.
Unless you and your customer develop some form of relationship, then more than likely the sale is not going to happen, even is you can sweet talk the devil into buying an air conditioner. The more powerful the relationship between you the car salesperson and your customer, the more likely a sale is going to be made. You want to develop trust between you and your customer so that they know you are not trying to sell them a car they don’t want.

Step 2: Decide whether or not there is even a remote possibility of getting a sale.
Help the customer understand how the process works from start to finish and listen to what they are telling you about what they are looking for. If you weren’t listened to by a salesperson, you’d walk away. Listening is key to closing the deal.

Step 3: Determine if this is a good opportunity.
When you put yourself into the customer’s shoes and look at the sales agreement and commitment you need to determine if this is a good buying opportunity. Price is a major factor in whether or not the customer will ultimately buy from you so engaging them in conversation about how they are feeling about the sale is a good way to easing any worried they may have and allow you to show them how this purchase will beneficial to them at that point in time.

Step 4: Give the customer time to decide on the course of action that is right for them. Don’t be pushy. They will come to you with their final answer.
